I’ve always loved music as a kid and it wasn’t until half way through high school when I realised I wanted to pursue a career in the music industry. Along with my love for music I also had an interest in engineering and hands on practical work, that’s why I decided to study Sound Production. Over the last year I’ve gained experience through obviously college but from also being head of sound for a school theatre performance. That’s when I realised I wanted to go into theatre after I finish my studies which is why I decided to take on a part-time Stage Management course next year.
I believe a project like That’s Sound which helps give younger girls more confidence is a good idea because there is a huge lack in female role models in sound and so I believe this is an alternative which young girls will see as a stepping stone and it will make them interested in sound and hopefully over the next few years the percentage of woman in sound will increase.
